Downington PA school hacked by 15yo.

Records of 55,000 people ended up on a flash drive when a 15 year old hacked his/her own schools network. Police arrested the student on Friday and charged them with unlawful duplication and theft. The school was in a frenzy to upgrade the network software that the child hacked. Last December a 16 year old hacked into the same network. It’s obvious the school never upgraded then, and they’ll probably never get it secure.
The school district said it would tighten security by segregating its central server and remove generic permissions, as well as review it’s own auditing procedures.
Hacked twice by teenagers? It seems that the school is more concerned with punishing the kids then the integrity of their IT infrastructure.
