The PS3 EYE, a webcam for your Playstion 3, has been hacked to work with windows. Some hackers developed a driver to let the cam be used on windows. The camera can push a wopping 60fps with USB 2.0 at full VGA, not to bad for a camera that is useless on the Playstation.

The Inside Scoop on Skype.

Well, I decided to finally give Skype a try, and only being a subscriber for 12 hours, I’m ubber excited about the free and commercial service. Skype in general is free. If all you want to do is call PC to PC with voice or instant messenger, no problem, Skype won’t cost you a dime. If you want to call a land line phone number, it will cost you $29 per year for unlimited calls to anywhere in the United States and Canada. If you want incoming calls and an actual real phone number attached to your Skype account, it will cost another $40 (aprx) per year. (continue reading…)

Password stealing virus makes it to space station.

A virus designed to swipe passwords from online gamers has inexplicably popped up in some laptop computers aboard the International Space Station. W32.Gammima.AG, is a worm that spreads to drives and flash memory. The worm is designed to steal passwords from online games such as World of Warcraft and others.

NASA is sending the laptops new flash memory.

Pacemakers to get firewalls?

Doctors, Patients, and manufacturers of pacemakers are all to concerned that hackers could tamper with someone’s much needed pacemaker. Today’s pacemakers allow doctors to remotely make changes to the pacemaker configurations, and patients feel they are at risk. Well, they are right, if doctors can access the pacemakers remotely, so can the hackers. Remote access to pacemakers is a BAD, and I say again, a BAD idea.

Nothing will keep hackers out, and I do mean nothing. Whether hackers remotely hack it, or whether the mob breaks into the doctors house and forces the doctor at gun point to remote access them, someone will find a way.
