Funcom merges servers as subscriptions fall.
by The Uni-Hacker on Sep.30, 2008, under Gaming
Due to the falling subscription rate for Age of Conan, Funcom is merging their servers. When I left Age of Conan a months or two ago, there was hardly anyone on the servers so this makes sense. Merging will bring more players together, but eventually I could see Funcom ending up with only one or two servers.
Give this a try, http://www.eveonline.com :-)
“It’s important for us to ensure the best gameplay experience for you all, and more healthy populations on each and every server will make sure we maintain healthy communities for the game in the future,” says one of the Directors for Age of Conan.
Funcom, Bankrupt From Age Of Conan?
by The Uni-Hacker on Aug.15, 2008, under Gaming
I’ve read a number for articles about Funcom’s “successfull” video game “Age of Conan”. Over 700′000 subscriptions during the first few months and now some are estimating that less than 50,000 are currently subscribed. The stock of Funcom has dropped from $54 to $21, the investors can’t be all that happy.
Age of Conan – 2 Weeks Later
by The Uni-Hacker on Jun.09, 2008, under Gaming
It’s been a little over two weeks from when I started playing Age of Conan and I thought I’d give everyone an update. The game was wicked cool, and still is, but there are some issues. So far they’ve released three patches, and every patch fixed one bug, but created another. One major problem now is switching instances is broken, preventing people from switching over after getting ganked. You have to be within 5 meters of a resurrection site, and even that doesn’t work all the time. One major flaw I see already is there is one race of characters that seems to be over powered, the Priest of Mitra. (continue reading…)
Age of Conan and DirectX 10.
by The Uni-Hacker on Jun.09, 2008, under Gaming
‘Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures’, winner of multiple E3 awards as the best game in its genre and one of the most anticipated PC games currently in development, is an Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMO) set in the fantastic Conan universe as created by Robert E. Howard. In “Conan” the players will encounter a brutal, lush, violent and sinful universe, presented in fantastic graphics and stunning 7.1 surround audio.
I recently picked up a Age of Conan about 3 weeks ago, and so far it’s a great game. This weekend I was about to upgrade to Windows Vista so that I can try it out in DirectX 10. No, you can’t install DirectX10 for Windows XP. Many people say some guy hacked it so it would work, but the DirectX10 for XP setup file on those torrents isn’t very trust worthy, and I’ve seen no reviews about it. (continue reading…)
Conan Forums
by The Uni-Hacker on May.28, 2008, under Gaming
Conan-Forums.com has opened up for all you Age of Conan members. The Age of Conan forums has all sorts of features such as Forums, Pictures, Videos, Blogging and Guilds. The Guilds section allows you to create a special area just for your guild with your own forums and picture gallery.
The site is pretty cool allowing you to have a buddy list much like MySpace, except not.
If you’re looking for a good community to get into early in the game, check’em out.
Age of Conan Review.
by The Uni-Hacker on May.27, 2008, under Gaming
Recently I have quit EVE Online and started playing WOW. Yes, I know, I’m crazy. One of my buddies mentioned that Age of Conan has been released so I started reading up on it again, watching trailers and such. The next day I ran to Gamestop and picked up a copy.
